Perth Airport’s Terminal 2 is nearly completion and is set to open in early 2013. Terminal 2 is the first terminal to be built at Perth Airport for 26 years and operators Alliance Airlines, Skywest and Tiger Airways Australia are set to become caretakers of this facility.
Some of the features of this newly-built terminal include :
-Drop off and pick up lanes at the front of the terminal (via Sugarbird Lady Drive)
-16 check in counters to minimise queues
-Spacious departures lounge with a wonderful array of food and beverage choices
-14 aircraft gates accessible via covered walkways to protect against the elements
-three large reclaim belts to reduce waiting
Terminal 2 will have a wide array of retail and dining outlets which include :
-A Hub Convenience Store before the departures lounge
-A Coffee Club outlet with an indoor/outdoor cafe
-In the departures area, Hudsons Coffee will have self-service kiosks
–Four Alls Brew House and Subway outlets
-A large Relay store with convenience items and feature a store-in-a-store called tech2go.
Parking at the new terminal is easy and efficient and includes :
-Park and Wait for a gold-coin donation
-Short-term parking will temporarily be at the International Terminal which is a short walk away, until a new carpark is built in mid 2013.
-Long Term Parking will be located at G and H on Hudswell Road.
-There will be a free Connect shuttle service to/from the International Terminal and Terminals 3 and 4. Also, there will be a shuttle service to/from Long Term carparks G and H.
