QANTAS will begin a two-weekly seasonal service linking Perth and Auckland from 06 December 2013. This will be the first time Qantas will link Perth with Auckland. The service will go ahead with Air New Zealand’s current daily rotations using Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. The seasonal rotations will be operated by internationally configured (Skybeds) Airbus A330-200 aircraft and will run on Fridays and Saturdays from Perth.
Qantas will be adding almost a 1000 seats per week to what is currently a monopoly route over the busy Christmas and summer holiday period. The service has the opportunity to go permanent if it goes popular with travellers who opt for Qantas’ option to Auckland.
Earlier today, Qantas announced a series of improvements to its international network that will deliver new options and more choice for customers traveling to Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Auckland and Christchurch.
Fares for the new services will be progressively available for sale on Qantas’ website from today.
