03 JUNE 14,
PERTH Airport will release its five-yearly masterplan for the 2014-2019 period on June 17 for public consultation within two months.
The Perth Airport Master Plan 2014 is currently being developed, and describes the expected developments at Perth Airport during the next 20 years.
One of the objectives of the Airports Act 1996 is to ensure that the public interest is served by the manner in which Australia’s major airports are developed and managed. The Act requires an airport Master Plan to be developed every five years, with the previous Perth Airport Master Plan approved in 2009 by the then Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, and Local Government.
Meaningful engagement with stakeholders and the wider community is a critical element to the development of Perth Airport’s Master Plan.
The Preliminary Draft Master Plan 2014 will be made available for public comment in mid-2014 for a period of 60 business days. More detailed information will be available soon.
