China Southern is set to use the Boeing 787-8 from 01APR15 onwards on its thrice weekly service from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to Perth. The B787 will replace the A330-200 that China Southern currently operates on its route to Perth.
The 787 promises increased passenger comfort due to higher cabin humidity and lower cabin altitude. The seat width offered on the 787 will remain unchanged from that of the A330, even though the 787 has a 9 abreast economy configuration, whereas the A330 offers a 8 abreast configuration. Seat pitch will also increase on the new aircraft, leading to an overall better experience for passengers.
The new service from China Southern will be Perth’s fourth 787 service.
