PERTH Airport has been awarded the Australian Airports Association ‘Capital City’ airport of the year for 2016.
As a reflection of the tireless efforts to improve the passenger experience, including two new terminals in the last five years, upgrades to the international terminal and the completion of the Gateway WA road network ahead of schedule, the award considers airports achieving exceptional results in the areas of customer experience, operations, community engagement, environmental management and commercial success.
Perth Airport’s CEO, Kevin Brown said in a press release,
To be named Capital City Airport of the Year is a great honour and recognises Perth Airport’s commitment to enhancing customer service, improving infrastructure and continuing to be involved in a variety of community projects.
Our redevelopment program has seen a significant upgrade to our terminal facilities, making Perth Airport a world-class gateway to the State of Western Australia for both international and Australian visitors.
While we have invested significantly in transforming our Terminal facilities over the last four years to ensure we deliver a world-class airport experience, our focus has always been on providing the best possible service to our customers each day.
Perth Airport’s third quarter results were the highest they have ever been, with an on-time performance equal second, slightly behind Hobart Airport.
