LION Air group airline, Batik Air are poised to begin Bali – Perth services in the next two months after receiving approval from the Civil Aviation and Safety Authority to begin flying to Australia.
Last week, the Indonesian carrier confirmed to media that it had received a foreign air operator’s certificate from CASA and is currently finalising its plans for a Perth service. Batik Air is considering Perth as its first Australian destination from Bali using Airbus A320 or Boeing 737 aircraft, with further plans for a Melbourne and Sydney service in the future.
Batik Air will be the second Lion Air group airline to service Australia and Perth, after Malindo Air launched in November 2015.
It will also be the fifth airline on the heavily contested Bali to Perth route, of which has more than fifty services a week.
